(New Orleans) From 2016-2018, Allstate Sugar Bowl will be the title sponsor for the annual Bleu Devil Classic. The deal between the two entities is reported to be a total of $15,000. Allstate Sugar Bowl has been the title sponsor for the Bleu Devil Classic since 2011.
"I am grateful to our friends at Allstate Sugar Bowl for their continued support of the Bleu Devil Classic," said Dillard University Director of Athletics Dr. Kiki Baker Barnes. "They have been a major part of the success of the Classic for the past six years and I am looking forward to our partnership for the next three years. Allstate Sugar Bowl is a leader in our community and I am glad that they chose Dillard University as a beneficiary of their generosity."
The Allstate Sugar Bowl has established itself as one of the premier college football bowl games, having hosted 27 national champions, 92 Hall of Fame players, 48 Hall of Fame coaches and 17 Heisman Trophy winners in its 83-year history. The 84th Allstate Sugar Bowl Football Classic, which will double as a College Football Playoff Semifinal, will be played on January 1, 2018. In addition to football, the Sugar Bowl Committee annually invests over $1.6 million into the community through the hosting and sponsorship of sporting events, awards and clinics. Through these efforts, the organization supports and honors over 25,000 student-athletes each year, while injecting over $2.5 billion into the local economy in the last decade.
