(New Orleans) For the second straight year, the Dillard Bleu Devils are heading to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship game after crushing Edward Waters College by the score of 103-78 thanks to NAIA All-American Demetric Austin (SR/Washington, D.C.), who was virtually unstoppable in the post, scoring a game-high 33 points, nailing 12-of-15 from the foul line and grabbing a game-high 15 boards in the victory.

The 2015 GCAC Men's Basketball Freshman of the Year Patrick Thompson (JR/Geismar, La.) had a stellar game off the bench as he scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while junior transfer Quinton Jackson (JR/Cambridge, Md.) chipped in with 19 points in the victory.

The Bleu Devils will face Philander Smith College at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 in a rematch of the 2013 GCAC Men's Basketball Championship game where the Panthers defeated Dillard. The series between these two schools has been dubbed "The Battle of @hiphopprez" (Old School vs. New School) because Dr. Walter Kimbrough, Dillard University's current president, spent seven years as Philander Smith's president before moving to New Orleans to hold the same title at Dillard.
