    Tailgating is only allowed in the designated areas.


    Tailgating will begin at 11 am and will end at 2:30pm. When tailgating hours end, all tailgating supplies must be properly disposed of and stored in a vehicle.

    Activities and Equipment

    The following items and activities are allowed at the tailgate:
    • Propane and gas grills with a maximum propane cylinder size of 20 pounds are permitted
    • Portable outdoor furniture
    • Portable generators – gas powered generators are not allowed for safety reasons.
    • Tents/Canopies
    • Tables

    The following items and activities are not allowed at the tailgate:

    • Alcoholic beverages
    • Glass containers of any kind, including bottles and cups
    • Open fires, fueled by charcoal, wood, or other combustible materials of any kind
    • Disorderly conduct (including profanity)
    • Promotional or marketing activities without appropriate authorization from the University.
    • No pets of any kind
    • No weapons of any kind
    • No fireworks
    • Charcoal grills are prohibited

    Disposal of Trash

    Disposal of trash and waste food items is the sole responsibility of the tailgater. Waste food items and trash must be disposed of in the appropriate containers that are provided on the campus.


    Tailgaters must be respectful of those around them and mindful that all students are subject to policies in the Dillard University Student Handbook. Everyone is subject to Louisiana State Law, as well as the rules and regulations of Dillard University. Tailgaters should:
    • Cooperate with law enforcement authorities and University personnel
    • Not unlawfully possess, distribute, or use any drug or controlled substance
    • Comply with all applicable University, city, state and federal rules, policies, ordinances, and laws

    Consequences for Violations

    Violating these Tailgating rules (or applicable laws, ordinances, and policies) could result in action taken through the Dillard University Office of Public Safety, the Office of Judicial Affairs or the New Orleans Police department. Actions may include, but are not limited to:
    • Fines
    • Removal from Campus
